Daily Prayers (Agpeya)

The Agpeya is the Coptic Orthodox book of daily prayers, rooted in the ancient Christian and Jewish tradition of praying at fixed hours of the day and of offering psalms as prayer and praise to God. Available in both, Hindi & English.

Prayed in the morning (6am) to commemorate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, prayed to give thanks to God in the beginning of a new day.

Ninth Hour

Prayed usually at 3pm to commemorate the death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross and the acceptance of the thief on the right.

Third Hour

Prayed usually at 9am to commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the discipels and the hour which our Lord was condemned.

Eleventh Hour

Prayed usually at 5pm to commemorate the time when the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ was taken down from the Cross and anointed with spices and wrapped in linen.
